About Us
The
China Yellow River Foundation (CYRF), registered in the Ministry of
Civil Affairs of the People’s Republic of China and approved by the
State Council，is a nation-wide public funding foundation. This
Foundation is initiated by the Yellow River Conservancy Commission
(YRCC) of the Ministry of Water Resources, she is the first public
funding foundation of water sector in China. The CYRF will further
promote the development of public welfare in water sector , arouse
Chinese people’s concern of the mother river, organize the international
and national awareness and participation in the mission to protect the
mother river, and to maintain the healthy life of the mother river .
The
CYRF was set up on 20th October 2009 during the 4th International
Yellow River Forum in Zhengzhou，and witnessed by more than 1500
representatives from 61 countries and regions. This foundation is a
public-funding foundation and open to the public donations from both
domestic and overseas organizations and individuals which are concerning
the Yellow River, and also open to the donations from the beneficiaries
within the Yellow River Basin. The supervising authority of the CYRF is
the Ministry of Water Resources of the People’s Republic of China.
The
establishment of the CYRF is greatly supported by the Ministry of Civil
Affairs and the Ministry of Water Resources. All levels of governments
and enterprises within the Yellow River basin actively respond to the
foundation. Some overseas Chinese and people with lofty ideals express
that it is the obligation for the descendant of the Chinese Nation to
protect the mother river, and they will actively contribute to and
participate in the protection and development of the Yellow River
through a variety of manners.
The
CYRF will make the most of the advantage of the non-governmental
organization, to promote Chinese civilization, inherit the Yellow River
culture, take actions to protect the mother river, and also to involve
more people in devoting to the endless life of the Yellow River.
Our mission is: Carrying
out regular activities of the Yellow River protection, to promote
long-term maintenance of the healthy life of the Yellow River.
The working scope is as follows:
a) Financing the research programs to protect the Yellow River;
b) Organizing and financing activities and actions to protect the Yellow River;
c)
Rewarding the organizations and individuals who have made outstanding
contributions to maintain the healthy life of the Yellow River;
d) Financing
the International Yellow River Forum and other international seminars,
organizing workshops on the scientific technology and its application,
promoting international exchange and cooperation;
e) Financing and carry out training projects and related activities；
f) Financing and developing other projects and activities which are in accordance with the aims of the Foundation.
